I spent quite a bit of today at my sewing machine. The chance to spend Sundays like this don't come along too often, so I've really enjoyed it. I've been making a simple, straight dress for Mum, sleeveless, with side splits. It's a McCalls pattern 3073, and it's one of her favourites which I've made over and over again each summer since she bought the pattern.
I've sewn this one from rayon, which I won on eBay for the princely sum of $4.00! The fabric has been lovely to work with...

Lots of 1" strips waiting to be sewn together to make bias binding.

Pinning the bias to the neck.

On the home stretch...sewing bias to arm holes, only the hem to go! |
It looks lovely! It feels so great to make gifts for others! ^^
