Knitting With The Bed Bugs

Easter weekend is now drawing to a close, and it has been a very pleasant one. Autumn is making its presence felt, and now that daylight savings time has come to an end, the evenings are drawing in and there is a definite chill in the air.
Today has been spent relaxing, mostly on the back verandah. I've spent some of the afternoon working on the
'Diminishing Rib Cardigan' (rav link) , which I've started knitting for Mum as part of her birthday present. She loved the pattern and chose the yarn from the Bendigo Woollen Mills shade cards, which arrived in the mail last month. The yarn is Classic 8ply in Celery...it's knitting up beautifully...

I like it when a project gives me the opportunity to learn a new technique. This particular pattern uses a tubular cast on. After a false start, I tried again, and bingo! I have removed the waste yarn used, and the edging is lovely.

Lucy and Harry kept us company outside. Harry stays close, while Lucy explores the backyard. When she feels like a rest, she loves to rest in a worn out bed, which really should have been tossed out a long time ago. Of course, it's Harry's favourite too ;)
